TrustDash ("we", "our", or "us") is a Shopify application that generates AI-powered review summaries for your storefront. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Who We Are

2. What Data We Collect

A. Merchant (Shop) Data

When you install TrustDash, we collect:

• Shop domain, shop name, and shop email address

• Shopify OAuth access token (to interact with your store's API)

• Your billing plan and usage statistics

• App settings and widget configuration preferences

B. Product Data

We may collect:

• Product ID, title, handle, description, status, and image URL

• Review counts and average ratings (cached from your review providers)

C. Review Data

We aggregate review data from third-party review apps you connect, including:

• Judge.me

• Yotpo

• Trustoo

• Loox

• Okendo

• AliReviews

• AirReviews

• Junip

• LAI Product Reviews

This may include:

• Review text, ratings, titles, and dates

• Reviewer display names (as provided by your review platform)

• Verified buyer status and review images

Note: Reviewer names are sourced from your connected review platform — we do not collect or link this data to Shopify customer profiles.

D. API Credentials

We may store:

• Your review provider API tokens (e.g., Judge.me), only if you provide them

• An auto-generated CSV export API key for your account

E. Contact Information

We may collect:

• Your name and email address (for notification preferences)

3. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

• Authenticate your store via Shopify OAuth

• Fetch your products and aggregate reviews from connected platforms

• Generate AI-powered summaries using OpenAI APIs

• Display widgets (summary blocks, pros/cons, sale popups, etc.) on your storefront

• Send email notifications about summary completion (only if enabled)

• Send weekly/monthly review digest emails (only if enabled)

• Track plan usage and enforce plan limits

• Provide CSV export functionality

4. Data Sharing With Third Parties

We may share data with the following third-party services:

A. OpenAI

• We send: Product descriptions and review text

• Purpose: AI-generated summaries, pros/cons, and sales copy

B. Review Platforms

• We fetch review data from platforms you authorize (Judge.me, Yotpo, Loox, etc.)

• We do not share your data back to these platforms

C. Email Services (SMTP / Gmail)

• We use SMTP services to send notification emails

• Emails are only sent when you enable notifications in settings

D. Shopify

• We store widget settings in Shopify metafields as backup

• We comply with Shopify Partner Program requirements

We do NOT sell your data to any third party.

5. Data Retention

• Your data is stored as long as TrustDash is installed on your store

• When you uninstall the app, we receive a shop/redact webhook from Shopify and permanently delete all your data within 48 hours

• AI-generated summaries are deleted along with your merchant record

6. GDPR & Customer Data Rights

TrustDash does not store personally identifiable information (PII) of your store's end customers.

Reviewer names displayed in widgets are sourced from third-party review apps and are not linked to Shopify customer IDs.

We handle Shopify mandatory privacy webhooks:

•  customers/data_request →  We confirm no customer PII is stored by us

•  customers/redact →  We confirm no deletable customer data is held by us

•  shop/redact →  We permanently delete all merchant data

7. Security

We protect your data using industry-standard measures:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption)

• Shopify access tokens are stored securely in our database

• API keys are auto-generated using cryptographically secure methods

• We do not expose sensitive credentials in client-side code

8. Your Rights

As a merchant, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about your store

• Request deletion of your data (uninstalling the app triggers full deletion)

• Opt out of email notifications (Settings → Notifications in the app)

• Contact us for any data-related questions

9. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Significant changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use of TrustDash after updates means you accept the revised policy.
